Fans of X-Plane probably already know that their weather focused development efforts have netted some new features that aircraft can take advantage of. One of those features is onboard weather radar which is now available on X-Crafts’ E-Jets. Let’s have a look.
New version, new radar!
X-Plane’s newly updated weather systems are being taken advantage of by aircraft developers and one of them, X-Crafts, have just taken those features and added it to their E-Jets V2 series. Version 2.1.0 updates the aircraft with compatibility for X-Plane 12.3.0 and integrates the weather radar system into the aircraft’s MFD and PFD displays. This version of X-Plane is still in beta, however, it has been popular already and the release version is likely coming soon.
There are several other new features including the HSI supporting full compass, arc and arc with flight plane plus weather radar modes. Missed approaches can be hidden in the map drop down. The flight director is now smoother in pitch after takeoff and the developer reports that known EFB related crashes have been resolved and cabin lighting no longer bleeds through the fuselage.

Roadmap into 2026
It’s always good to know what’s coming next and X-Craft’s latest developer diary also lays out their plans for the rest of 2025.
Next up is the release of a free E-Jets 3.1 (this is based on their first gen series which are now free) with the weather radar implemented. They are also hoping to release their ERJ Family 2.0, a fully overhauled ERJ series for X-Plane 12, into the sim before the end of the year. Fingers crossed emoji tells you that they aren’t certain but it could happen!
For the first two quarters of 2026 the developer plans to update the E-Jets Family to 3.0 with customized autopilot system, holds separated MFD, improved cockpit and cabin textures, more animations and other refinements. They are also planning to implement the E-Freighters, Embraer’s entry into the freighter market with the E-Jets series as the base. Read the complete roadmap on the X-Crafts website!
