A pair of updates in the last couple of days have given us some updated insights into how things are going with SimWorks Studios. The latest updates are focused on the GA-8 Airvan and on the PC-12 with good news for fans of both aircraft.

Airvan update

SWS are reporting good progress with the GA-8 Airvan. The aircraft is available for MSFS 2020 and a new update headed to the marketplace will fix several reported bugs, brings an automatic stepping system to the FS450 and allows for manual fuel-on-board reset like the totalizer in the PC-12. Airvan + SystemPulse (the reliability and persistence system) now works in compatibility mode in 2024 SU4 beta.

Meanwhile, the MSFS 2024 variant of the aircraft is still being developed. They report that a release version is near and that they’ve solved most of the career mode issues they were having. Ferry Flight, Private Charter, and Light Cargo missions are available. The Skydive version has an issue where the divers won’t leave the aircraft so that will be out for now – until its fixed. The 2024 version is heading to the Marketplace submission process next week so its time is near!

PC-12 update

October will see the launch of the latest SWS PC-12 update with flight model and control improvements, redone cabin model (with lower texture footprint), new passenger seats, and various other bugfixes.

The team report that this update should solve all core related issues letting them focus on the SystemPulse expansion for the PC-12 and work on the PC-12NG. A few remaining items, adding in the tablet and allowing for avionics hot-swapping, are due around the end of the year.
