If you’ve been waiting for the Fokker 70 and 100 release from Just Flight you may be wondering where the airliner is and what state of development its currently in. The latest update from Just Flight provides a lengthy update to help fill us in on some of the details for what is one of Just Flight’s most complex airliner projects to date. Let’s have a look.
Preparing the F70/F100

The developer update starts with a bit of an overview of the Fokker 70/100 project. Work on it has its origins back in 2022 and with much of the team focusing on the project following the Avro RJ’s release around the end of last year. The F70/100 avionics are more automated and complex than prior projects and they say that its the biggest jump they’ve made as a developer yet.
The good news is that the aircraft are now fully functional and in testing. Sounds have just been integrated into the product and the systems, by far the most complex part of the effort, are being fine tuned. Here’s a little more of what they said:
As of last month, the F70 and F100 are fully functional in both MSFS 2020 and 2024, with beta testing having been under way for several months now. Following the integration of the complete sound package this week, which will no doubt sound as incredible as our previous MSFS aircraft, our focus will turn to finishing work on the automatic flight system and FMS. By far the most complex aspect of the aircraft, our coders have spent months tweaking and fine tuning those systems, with particular attention on getting the NAV (LNAV) and PROF (VNAV) autopilot modes to work in harmony with the autothrottle and FMS. Like on a modern Airbus or Boeing, those are essential systems for the realistic operation of the aircraft, and are not something that we can compromise on.
The other bit of news nearer the end is that with all of the testing now underway they are getting close to the point where they can talk about a release date. It doesn’t sound like they are there yet, but they are approaching it and that sounds encouraging.
Just Flight have tended to be a developer that come out of the gate on release day with a solid aircraft release. They aren’t immune to bugs but usually day one has been a solid enough release that follow-up patches have tended to fix more minor issues rather than rushing something out. That means the release date may be further into the future, but I expect we’ll be hearing more about it soon.
And in-case you were curious, a Facebook comment has confirmed that Just Flight intend to bring the F70/F100 Professional to both PC and Xbox and release on MSFS 2020 and 2024. No word if it will come to the recently revealed PlayStation 5 release.
Other product updates
A couple of other products got mentioned in the update. They wrote about how all 10 of their products for MSFS have seen updates and have been ported over to MSFS 2024. They say that the process of updating the aircraft is coming to an end at the end of this month with the release of the V2.4 release of the 146 Professional which finally brings that airliner over to 2024. Great news!
We’re also learning that the A300B4 now has its cockpit and cabin artwork complete while external artwork and systems coding are approaching the later stages of development. An update is expected soon.
