Marwan Gharib made a name for himself in Microsoft Flight Simulator with his release of the HJet. The small business jet proved to be a hit and had seen some updates over the years that added various capabilities and improved features. Now part of the FlightFx team, Marwan has been busy with a substantial rework of the HJet for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. And there are details!
Updating the jet
The HJet (based on the Honda Jet) is getting a significant overhaul and some new details are now available thanks to posts in the FlightFx’s Discord and on the MSFS forums.
The changes? Overhaul of the cockpit model and texture with improved details and clarity together with a similar overhaul of the cabin space updating the lighting, details, carpet, and using MSFS 2024 features to help fit all of this together. The HJet will also make use of the MSFS 2024 passenger system.
The aircraft’s systems are also being updated with a new tablet with new interactivity options, G3000 avionics updates and backend changes, added walk-around functionality. Flight model, ground handling, and suspension physics will also all be updated. All of the work will also make the HJet compatible with career mode so it can be flown around in that part of the sim.
There are a few more minor updates to the 2020 version coming which will plug a few issues with the airplane. The other updates are exclusive to the 2024 version as this aircraft has significantly diverged from the prior version and it uses 2024 technologies. Understandable.
Upgrade pricing?
It sounds like the HJet is being given an entirely new life thanks to all of this work! The price for that update? Surprisingly its going to be free.
FlightFx and Marwan are planning for current owners to receive the MSFS 2024 update for free. If you already own it on the Marketplace or with one of the third party providers, you will get access to the new version.
