Put together in partnership with Blackbird Simulations, Miltech Simulations has just released their rendition of the A-1 Skyraider for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This vintage aircraft comes with quite a long list of features so here’s what you need to know!
Skyraider takes to the air

Designed during World War II but not entering into frontline service until just after the war, the Skyraider found itself in service in subsequent conflicts and saw lengthy service including in the Korean War and in Vietnam. That historical background makes for some interesting sim flying – or surely that’s what Blackbird and Miltech thought!
This aircraft release comes with a detailed 3D model inside and out covering three variants and coming with 20-liveries. The variants include the AD-3W (AEW), A-1H, and AD-4W.
The aircraft has realistically modeled vibrations in the cockpit. System simulation includes radio system, authentic 1950s ADF with optional modern (PMS GTN750) suite available. Authentic autopilot system with pitch and bank hold modes is available as is an optional radar scope for variants so equipped. Miltech have put together an optional engine failure system with mechanical failures based on misuse: overheating, overboosting, fuel starvation, and prop strikes. The aircraft also has folding wings and functional tail hook for carrier operations.
Sounds are provided by Echo 19 who has been involved with a lot of these projects recently.
The Miltech/Blackbird Skyraider is available for both MSFS 2020 and 2024 and on both PC and Xbox. It is available from Miltech’s storefront as well as from the iniBuilds store, Blackbird Simulations store, MS Marketplace all for $24.99 USD. Learn more about it here!
