The developers at TFDi hosted a 2-hour long live stream showing off the latest updates to the TFDi MD-11 aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The aircraft has been available for about a year now, however, work hasn’t stopped on it and the aircraft is set to pick-up some big updates to both the systems and the art assets for the aircraft.

Big improvement

Releases over a year ago, TFDi’s MD-11 in passenger and freighter variants has developed a dedicated fan base, however, criticism of some aged elements of the model and texturing have been taken to heart and the developer has made significant changes.

That’s not all as the systems, startup, autopilot and FMC have also been overhauled and updated.

The MSFS 2024 update is also coming up along with Xbox and Marketplace releases are also on the way. The word they give is that these are hoped to arrive before “the Christmas parties start.”

The TFDi MD-11 is already available for MSFS 2020 PC users and is available on their website’s storefront.

  1. I love how they are not diverting any attention to new products and focussing solely on their MD-11. I would like to see them do more McDonell Douglas aircraft though sometime in the future.

    1. It is very good to see that they are making sure that this product is in tip top shape before doing anything else. The company has done a Boeing 717 in the past (MD-95) which nobody else has done yet that would be very interesting to see. In all due time!

      1. Exactly. I think the 717/MD-95 would be the most likely aircraft once they feel satisfied that their MD-11 has reached a certain standard they feel satisfied with. I would also likel to see them do a DC-9 for MSFS, as well as the MD-80 and MD-90 as well. Time will definately answer my question as to whether they will do it.

I would like to see them do a DC-10 and MD-10 for MSFS, as I believe they would put the same amount of work into this as their MD-11. The MD-10 is basically a modernized DC-10 with a refitted glassed cockpit, and no flight engineer. Do you wonder if they will do such an aircraft?
