Another modern fighter jet has made its way into Microsoft Flight Simulator. This time its IndiaFoxtEcho and their long awaited Typhoon project. The aircraft has been in development for quite some time and is now available for purchase. Here’s what you might want to know!

Typhoon ready

If you’ve dreamed of flying the Eurofighter Typhoon, you now have a chance to experience it and it’s incredible performance. IndiaFoxtEcho have recreated a what is mostly a Tranche 1 variant of the Typhoon saying that its the only variant that has at least some unclassified data on it on the internet. The avionics and systems have been recreated as best as possible and that includes air intercept radar (that works with AI aircraft).

The project also features sounds by Echo 19, optional weapon stores (including the AIM-9L, AIM-132, IRIS-T, AIM-120, METEOR, GBU-12, external fuel tanks, and a targeting pod), and liveries for “practically every unit that operates the Eurofighter.” The aircraft is available from the Marketplace and it is available on both PC and Xbox for both MSFS 2020 and 2024. The company reports that they don’t yet have access to PlayStation 5 information but that they do intend to support that platform when they are able.

The company is offering up a paintkit for livery artists.

There are some problems occurring right now with some marketplace modules, the Typhoon is one that is affected, where the WASM module for the airplane is not being included with the download leading to a “missing content warning.” They’ve reached out to Microsoft for support – this is not the only developer struggling with this right now so I suspect we’ll all be waiting for a Microsoft fix.

IndiaFoxtEcho EF-2000 Typhoon is available on the Marketplace for $32.00 USD.

Note: DCS fans, this one is not the Heatblur/TrueGrit Typhoon. Hoping for more on that project soon!

  1. IFT does a good job on switchology and art. this might be good basic training wheels for the still far off DCS version.

  2. I wonder what IFT’s next DCS project is after their Fiat G.91? I remember them saying that it will not be of European origin. Though whatever they have in the works now will not make it to the platform until the early 2030s. Fun to speculate though.
