The highly anticipated release of Synaptic Simulations Airbus A220 project did not go ahead in 2025, however, a new status update from a few days ago details some of the work that’s been done and items remaining. As usual, big complex airliner projects always take some time to put together and this one is no different. Here’s the latest as reported by the team on their Discord server!
Status update

Coming in just at the end of last year, Synaptic Simulations provided the community with a long awaited status report on their A220 project. The aircraft project is reportedly in beta testing with a lot of focus on the LNAV guidance testing while efforts are being made to bring VNAV into the pipeline. Engine control, fly-by-wire, autoflight, and other systems have already been worked on. They report that they also intend to make improvements to the engine and flight models and some smaller systems like pressurization and autobrake systems still need to be completed.
The update acknowledges the disappointment felt by the project not releasing in 2025, however, they also talk about the desire to release a well regarded product to the market. In my experience, its nearly always better for a complex project like this one to spend some more time in development before releasing it.
We sympathize with those disappointed that 2025 did not see a release of the Synaptic A220, but hope you understand our desire to bring a capable and well-regarded product to the market. Stay tuned in the next few months for more announcements as we work towards release day.
More updates as they come in!
