In what is surely a sign that 1C Game Studios new Korea-focused combat flight sim is starting to take shape, the company has just announced that a closed beta test will begin February 20. Here’s what you need to know.

Sign-up to become a tester

Applications to be a closed beta tester for 1C Game Studios and the Korea IL-2 Series release are now open. To register you’ll need to complete a form and then send a private message on the Korea forums to Valery Vedernikov, lead tester for the group.

There are requirements like being able to devote at least 4-hours a week to the test, have a PC able to meet system requirements, active participation in the testing process, and being prepared to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Application period ends on February 15, those selected will then be asked to sign the NDA, with applications accepted no later than February 19. Then the test begins.

One response to “Korea IL-2 Series gears up for closed beta testing”

  1. We have to be a couple months out until release, right? Spring 2026 they said? Getting closer!

Do we know if it’s going to release like IL2:GB did way way back with just two planes to start, and then each update will add more aircraft and more features? Or will we just get the full thing all at once?
