If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on Combat Pilot: Carrier Qualification, your chance to try it out is coming up starting on February 23rd with Steam Next Fest. Here’s what you need to know!

Free trial coming up

Steam Next Fest is a week long event focused on upcoming games offering up playable demos to try and Combat Pilot is getting in on the action this year.

Combat Pilot’s alpha test program has been ongoing for quite some time now with the development team pushing regular updates to those paying into the Patreon Alpha program. The state of the sim has been progressing with features and refinements being added all of the time. Now, everyone is going to have chance to try it out.

Here are some of the features as listed in the announcement:

  • Easy to create Quick Missions
  • Flyable US Navy / Marine Corps F4F-4 fighter and Imperial Japanese Navy A6M2 Model 21 “Zero” fighter
  • USS Enterprise and IJN Akagi aircraft carriers
  • Realistic flight physics and systems modeling
  • Realistic carrier take-offs and landings
  • Midway Atoll (Sand and Eastern Island)

Now I think its important to set expectations that Combat Pilot is still in its alpha development stage. It’s really made terrific progress but it also has a way to go. Still, you can see what the developers are intending to do with the latest test when you try it for yourself. All steps in the right direction.
