Regional jet lovers rejoice as X-Crafts ERJ Family 2.0 release has finally come. This pack of regional jets (and one business jet) cover Embraer’s ERJ series of aircraft. Here’s what you need to know!
Ready to fly
The first iteration of the ERJ series by X-Crafts released back in 2019 for X-Plane 11. Now the developer has brought it back with what is essentially an all new release for the ERJ Family 2.0.
Five aircraft are part of the family including the ERJ 135, 140, 145 and 145XR plus the business jet modification that is the Legacy 650. X-Crafts touts highly detailed exterior and interior, authentic FMS, autopilot (with holds!), fully simulated aircraft systems, pilot tested flight dynamics, an auto updater, VR immersion, AviTab and other X-Plane plugin support, and a custom EFB with SimBrief support. The aircraft ships with 12 liveries but 150 additional liveries are already available from the community with a Google Doc spreadsheet to track all of them down.
A particularly interesting feature is something the company calls AirComms™ which provides pop-up reminders, warnings, and step-by-step tutorial from start-up to shutdown. The intent is to make it easier for new pilots (or returning ones) to get to grips with the jet.
X-Crafts is also offering the E140 as part of a free preview so you can try it out and make sure the performance is good on your system before buying. Nice.
Pricing it out

Now we get to the pricing which is a little bit interesting so let’s talk this through.
There’s a Standard release which comes with the E135 or 140 as standalone. That is $59.95 USD. Then they have the Advanced release which adds the E145 & 145XR OR the Legacy 650. That package is $69.95 USD. And of course the one they really want you to buy is the one that has everything packaged in with the ERJ Family which comes in at $139.95.
One upgrade route would have you start with the Standard package, say the E135, and then decide to buy the rest of the family for $79.99. Now, if I understand the setup correctly, you can also start with the Advanced package for $69.95 USD and then upgrade to the rest of the fleet also for $79.99 USD.
