A release date for SimWorks Studios update of their well regarded Kodiak 100 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is due next week. The developer has devoted the last few updates to reporting on what efforts are being made to update the aircraft for the current sim. Let’s have a look at what they’ve been up to!

Kodiak 100 improved, repackaged, release date imminent

SimWorks Studios are nearly ready to reveal the release date for their updated Kodiak 100. The developer has announced the features and the way they will be packaging the aircraft so let’s have a look.

Some of the new features include native 2024 passengers in the cabin, cargo and baggage configurations, dynamic dirt effects, remodelled cargo pod with visible baggage, walkaround capability, working external power receptacle, interior and exterior model refinements, and an integrated 2024 EFB that can be stowed or mounted on the pilots yoke. If you bought it/buy it from Marketplace, it also gets Career mode access.

The project also now features a smart autostart (allowing Cntrl E capability), expanded G1000 suite with the full set of screens specific to the Kodiak 100. Reworked electrical and environmental controls and improved lighting.

The Kodiak was previously a amphibious and wheeled version separate release, however, the developer is now packaging the two together for 2024. It will be priced at €35 on the SWS website and $40 USD on the Marketplace. The floatplane by itself is still an available product with a small €5 price increase.

The upgrade is 50% off for previous owners coming in at €15–€20 range.

Look for release soon.
