Officially licensed, packing in a bunch of new MSFS 2024 specific features, and building on the success of their MSFS 2020 variant release, FlightFX are on a roll right now with this upcoming release of the Piaggio P.180. Let’s have a look!

Release date, features, and more

Coming March 12, FlightFX have set out to re-release their Piaggio P.180 packing in new features and official licensing for the aircraft. FlightFX are touting advanced flight and engine modeling, custom engine damage logic, custom propeller simulation, simulated auto feather in emergencies, and custom pressurization in their announcement today. The aircraft will sport walkaround mode in 2024 as well as updated ProLine 21 avionics, career compatibility, , specialized system pages as well as a custom CAS panel, and custom alerts and alarms, and realistic nosewheel steering also round out the features.

There’s also a significant update to their VAMS 2.0 tablet (which we also saw on the HJet released recently) with Navigraph and OpenStreetMap integration, SimBrief load manager, ground services and active noise reduction (if the engine drone is getting to you).

Alongside the MSFS 2024 release is a significant MSFS 2020 release as well which focuses in on adding the license branding as well as updating the flight model, engine logic, improving the autopilot, and adding ground services in the EFB.

Pricing and upgrade

The aircraft is currently $24.99 USD for MSFS 2020 in the Marketplace and I expect that they will be keeping the price set at the same level as no mention was made of pricing.

For current MSFS 2020 version owners, the update to the 2024 version is completely free. Great news! The aircraft already works really well in 2020 and 2024 but this update obviously adds core MSFS 2024 features as well as providing enhancements across the aircraft. I’m very excited to check it out on March 12!
