The revamped MSFS 2024 version of the SimWorks Studios Kodiak 100 is on its way and will be arriving on March 27!

Kodiak nearly ready

SWS have poured some resources into one of their first Microsoft Flight Simulator products in order to re-release it for MSFS 2024. The aircraft will be coming in a combo pack Kodiak 100 (Wheels + Amphibian) and Kodiak Amphibian (stand-alone). Current 2020 owners can get the upgrade for 50% off the full price.

Some of the changes detailed in the latest update include a new detailed PT6 engine simulation (custom modeling includes altitude limiting ITT), custom air conditioning, detailed electrical, wear and damage modeling, normal and tundra tires as well as cargo pod variants, visible cargo and baggage, 30+ liveries, and five cabin variants. The aircraft’s Working Title based G1000 simulation also includes multiple custom pages as present in the real aircraft. The native MSFS 2024 tablet is also included in the aircraft cockpit now. In short, its an overhaul of the original!

Check out the dev report from SimWorks Studios here and stay tuned for release on the 27th!

One response to “SimWorks Studios says the Kodiak 100 is coming March 27”

  1. These guys have worked tirelessly for years to produce good addons, so I don’t mind paying for the upgrade. Given the 50% discount, I say, “In for a Penny, In for a Pound!” 🙂

TBH, i’ve always enjoyed flying the Thranda Kodiak with the REP upgrade in XP more than this one. While the SWS in MSFS is far more visually appealing, the REP systems and flight model have simply provided more satisfaction.

But in light of the “native” Black Square Caravan Pro, that’ll probably get significantly more flight time than either Kodiak moving forward.
