Two videos have come out, one with commentary and one without, showing off the DCS: MiG-17’s flight model in action with some virtual airshow moves. Let’s have a look!

Airshow display for the MiG-17

Red Star Simulations look to be fine tuning their flight model process as the DCS: MiG-17 comes together. The airshow routine shows off the aircraft in various states of flight, with and without the afterburner, doing tight turns, and even an aileron roll on takeoff with gear still extended.

The caption for the video reads “Raw power. No computers. Just stick, rudder… and skill.”

The airshow moves are inspired by real world airshow performers: Bill Reesman, Randy Ball, and Will Ward. I’ve had the opportunity to see Randy Ball perform and the MiG-17 is definitely impressive.

The second video is similar to the first except its the complete show, without commentary, and with a splitscreen so you can see the cockpit, exterior, and TacView readouts.

The aircraft is going to be at FSWeekend, the flight sim show happening this weekend in Lelystad, Netherlands. If you’re at the show, you should get the opportunity to check out this aircraft and talk with the devs.
