PMDG have just released a 5 and a half minute long trailer showing off the 737-700 and the high detail update for the 737NG series and report that the update is coming on April 9. Let’s have a look!

High detail update plus the 737-700

PMG have taken some flak from around the community for their high priced update for the 737NG for 2024. Some of the criticism has been aimed at the visual model which, though somewhat better looking in 2024, was basically the same model as the previous iteration and even that one had fallen behind the competition. Enter the high detail update which, as the trailer shows, appears to be a substantial update all around the 737 cockpit, cabin and exterior model.

Some of the comparisons include this one where the engine model appears to be substantially updated. Perhaps even approaching Fenix level of quality? I’ll have to see for myself but the presentation in the video appears strong.

Releasing at the same time is the 737-700 which is the last of the four variants of the NG series that PMDG have been offering. The 737-700 will come with the new visual update right out of the gate while the other variants are expected to pick up the high detail update at the same time – unless plans have changed.

All of this is set to come on April 9th so the wait will hopefully not be too much longer.
