Content is always in development from DCS World developers Eagle Dynamics and from ever growing collection of third party developers. There are plenty of long standing projects by established developers and new upstarts working on their first module for the sim all under development. Here’s a snapshot of what we know.
This roadmap was last updated on January 9, 2026.
Upcoming modules
Core updates
- In-flight save games – The ability to save a flight halfway through and then come back to it later is being added.
- New replay system – A more robust replay recording system has been announced.
- Improved radar – Phase three of an improvement process for more realistic radar is underway.
- Improved electronic warfare – A more detailed simulation of electronic warfare is planned.
- DTC (data transfer card) – A unified data transfer capability that can help enable pre-configured aircraft settings, waypoints, etc. The first phase of this released in 2025.
- Dynamic campaign – This project is still underway and has no suggested ETA at this time. Four developers are dedicated to the project.
- Instant Action generator – An upgraded or completely redesigned Instant Action mission generator has been mentioned as one of the development goals for DCS World. The first phase of this released in 2025.
- Vulkan API – Vulkan API will eventually be used by DCS World as a way to boost performance. Its currently in development.
- Air Traffic Control and Radio – New technology updates for ATC (based on Supercarrier) including new radio calls for a wide variety of functions.
- Spherical Earth Map – Eventually DCS World looks set to bring in a spherical earth map. The map will operate separately from regional maps. Eagle Dynamics says this is on hold awaiting technology improvements.
- Weather improvements – Eagle Dynamics have provided dramatic improvements to the weather and are planning more. New fog system and more sophisticated cloud types are planned. A true dynamic weather system with evolving cloud types and high/low pressure may not be in the cards for some time.
Announced aircraft modules
Upcoming aircraft releases

Where possible, this list will now be ordered by release date or expected release date. The closer to the bottom of the list you get, the less accurate the guesses are going to be.
- DCS: La-7 (OctopusG) – After a successful launch of DCS: I-16, OctopusG is back with the La-7 focused on the highly successful Lavochkin late war fighter. This aircraft is expected to release early in 2026.
- DCS: F6F Hellcat (Eagle Dynamics) – A full fidelity Hellcat simulation is currently in the works from Eagle Dynamics. It, alongside a USS Enterprise (CV-6), will be released as part of a drive towards WWII Pacific content. The aircraft is reportedly being finalized and may arrive soon.
- DCS: A6M5 Zero (Eagle Dynamics) – Now confirmed as a module, the A6M5 is reportedly making good progress as part of the WWII PTO content. No release date is available.
- FC: Su-25 (Eagle Dynamics) – A visual update to the Flaming Cliffs Su-25 is currently underway and will be offered for free to all DCS pilots. This project is being finalized. An upgrade to the Su-25T may be offered at a later date as well.
- DCS: Su-25 (Eagle Dynamics) – Eagle Dynamics have speculated that their next project following the DCS: MiG-29A will be a full fidelity Su-25. I wouldn’t expect this for quite some time.
- DCS: Mirage F1 (Aerges) – Initial release happened on July 21, 2022 with the basic Mirage F1CE version. The more capable F1EE was released in early 2023 and the two seat F1BE was released in the autumn. Texture updates and system updates were released in 2024. The modernized F1M has no ETA but is in progress.
- DCS: F-100D Super Sabre (Grinnelli Designs) – Being developed by Grinnelli Designs, this Vietnam era fighter-bomber. The project is reportedly at 85% completion. Release date unknown.
- DCS: F-15C (Eagle Dynamics) – A full fidelity DCS World level F-15C Eagle is currently in development by Eagle Dynamics. The project is separate from the Flaming Cliffs version and is a more modern early 2000s era Eagle with Multi-Stage Improvement Program (MISP). That includes AN/APG-63 radar, PACS, JTDIS datalink, JHMCS helmet and the AIM-9X. The project may release in 2026, however, progress is reportedly slow and 2027 or beyond is more likely.
- DCS: F-35A (Eagle Dynamics) – A full fidelity DCS World edition of the F-35A is now in development at Eagle Dynamics. The fifth gen stealth fighter will be a series first and include a complete weapons suite of a US F-35A in the 2015-time frame. Progress is reportedly slow and 2027 or beyond is more likely than 2026.
- DCS: MiG-17 (Red Star Simulations) – Steady progress has been reported by the development team on this project. Flight model and systems tuning appear to be well underway and it may be 2026 when this releases.
- DCS: G.91 (IndiaFoxtEcho) – Developer IndiaFoxtEcho is working on three versions of the G.91. An Italian R1B, the German R3, and the PAN aerobatic version. There is no release date. Progress appears steady.
- DCS: Typhoon (TrueGrit and Heatblur) – This project got a big boost from a partnership with Heatblur. Release date is unknown but was recently featured in the 2025 and Beyond video. A 2026 or beyond release is possible.
- DCS: A-6 Intruder (Heatblur) – Legendary developers Heatblur have announced that they are building an AI and then flyable A-6 Intruder for DCS World. The AI version has now been released but the flyable full fidelity has no release date.
- DCS: A-7 Corsair II (Flying Iron Simulations) – The developers have reported that they have completed 3 out of 4 phases of development on the Corsair II. No release date has been given and substantial work does appear to still be ahead of them. The developer has paused and restarted efforts while balancing other interests (namely their MSFS aircraft).
- DCS: Kfir (AVIRON) – Moving into official third party status during the summer of 2022, DCS: Kfir seeks to recreate an Israeli Mirage variant. No release date is available.
- DCS: Tornado GR1 (AviaStorm) – Officially announced by Eagle Dynamics, this project seeks to simulate a 1989 German Tornado GR1 standard aircraft. It has no known release date.
- DCS: A-1H Skyraider (Crosstail Studios) – Previously announced as a licensed module, lack of reported progress has caused Eagle Dynamics to pull the license for now. This may change.
- DCS: F-104 (Aerges) – Following their successful Mirage F1 product, Aerges intend to develop an F-104 Starfighter.
The DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum, DCS: C-130J Hercules, and DCS: F4U Corsair all released in 2025.
Upcoming announced map/scenery/other modules
- DCS: Balkans (OnReTech) – A new map from OnReTech focuses in on the Balkans in the 1990s.
- DCS: Combined Arms 2.0 – A significant update of Combined Arms including a VR mode for first person operations and a RTS style interface for movement is planned.
Other maps such as DCS: Cold War Germany, Kola, Afghanistan and Iraq have launched and are now in early access.
