Another video is out about the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet module and this time its one featuring the aerobatic capabilities of the Hornet. The video is a showcase of what the virtual Hornet looks like performing aerobatics.
A familiar aerobatic routine
The flight demonstration video showcases what, to me anyways, is a familiar flight demonstration for Hornets at airshows for at least the last decade or two. I’ve seen both US Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18s perform and they never cease to impress.
This video gives you that airshow perspective from the ground watching the jet perform turns, rolls, climbs, a dirty pass and just about everything else you might expect.
One thing to keep in mind while watching this video… That’s a real F/A-18 “soundtrack” behind the video. Those are not DCS sounds.
Watch that, go and watch any Hornet airshow video, and I think you’ll agree that it’s pretty convincing.
Although this is mostly for visual enjoyment, for Eagle Dynamics and Belsimtek, this is a verification that flight model work is progressing and yet another step along the way towards early access.
