Eagle Dynamics has announced the release dates for the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet and DCS: Persian Gulf map along with a launch trailer for the latter. Get ready folks!
Persian Gulf in one week

Cutting straight to it, DCS: Persian Gulf is ready for release and will launch next week on Wednesday May 23rd. The map was at one point thought to be waiting for after the Hornet launch but apparently they have made sufficient progress towards finishing it.
Everything we’ve seen in recent videos showcasing the map has suggested that the map is indeed ready to go. So, DCS: Persian Gulf, here we come!
Hornet in two weeks

The F/A-18C is coming in two weeks with a set release date by Eagle Dynamics of Wednesday, May 30. Although the module is coming along nicely, it’s pretty obvious to me from the videos I’ve seen that it still needs a little work before its ready for early access. The radar and AIM-7 were both a little buggy in some of the videos that we’ve seen and it looks like Eagle Dynamics wants to have a relatively problem free launch.
Here’s what they intend to bring forward prior to launch:
In order to meet your expectations for the Hornet early access release, we decided to move the Hornet release to shortly after the Persian Gulf Map release. Items we still need to complete are:
- Completed radar-directed AA Gun, AIM-9, and AIM-7 symbology
- AUTO bombing mode
- Radar contacts on the Electronic Warfare (EW) Page
- The Moving Map
We believe these are all vital for a great early access release.
Hopefully, this will allow some time to polish off what needs to be polished so that we can get cracking on this new jet and figuring out how everything works. I expect bugs but hopefully no really major ones.
In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful launch trailer for the Hornet right here!
Discounts still in place
Early access discounts are, of course, still in place with the Hornet at $20 off and the Persian Gulf map at $10 off their regular full prices.
The countdown is now on!
