DCS: F-14 gameplay live stream tomorrow

Heatblur are hard at work putting some finishing touches to the DCS: F-14 and specifically the F-14B which will be the first of two major variants of the F-14 to come to DCS World. Though we can’t yet fly the F-14 in early access, surely that must be coming soon as Heatblur are ready to provide some gameplay footage via a live stream.

Mark your calendars

Starting at 2:00 pm (approximately) EST on November 24th, Heatblur will be streaming some live gameplay footage on YouTube. If you wanted something with more meat and less music video, this is probably the thing you’ve been waiting for.

The link to the live stream is already up though the announcement cautions that the stream may not start immediately at 2:00 pm. Should be an interesting moment for the DCS: F-14 and it will hopefully answer some questions on how close we are to its release into early access.

    I really do hope they host the same type of stream they made before the Viggen launched, an epic two hours flight with the devs and Wags. Fingers crossed.

      That would be pretty amazing. The expectations are high on this one so it probably won’t be a 10 minute presentation… Probably 🙂

    Well, that was a bit underwhelming. It was more about a bunch of guys having fun and who happened to record it (in VR, low-res) to show off. In any case, it was definitely not meant for fans to learn anything or get much information out the video.

    Perhaps there is too much build-up and anything falling short is perceived as even worse, like a movie everyone told you about and you *had* to see. But even objectively I think this “show” was below anything else I’ve seen for modules about to be released – if that is even close to be released, we don’t know.

    They could achieve a series of feats, though, like carrier take-off, air refueling, using some weapons, landing (using night goggles…). A few bugs which were first acknowledged, then passed as a feature since “the same bugs exist on the real F-14” (that was perhaps a bit too much). So nothing really blocking, which should be a good sign.

      I watched the first 10-15 minutes with great interest and then I sort of let it run in the background while I did other stuff. I haven’t watched the finish part but I got the gist of things.

      On one hand its a bit less exciting than some of the other stuff we’ve seen but then on the other it was a really good test to watch and see things working essentially as they are intended.

      It sure looks like they are close to an early access release. I know people will be overjoyed if it comes before the holidays.

    REALLY hopping Santa leaves a Tomcat under the tree! The stream was a little underwhelming but just reading between the lines it does look fairly close to an EA release.

      It’s looking close though I’m not fully convinced that they will release before the end of the year. Still, we’re probably not too far away.
