P-47 gameplay roundup (updated)

I’ve been talking about the P-47 almost non-stop (I promise to do some early impressions on the three other aircraft we’ve got very soon) and I’m not the only one. The usual array of YouTubers have been posting videos and flying the P-47 online and streaming the experience or posting it after-action and I thought it’d be great to do a bit of a round-up on what’s going on out there.

Gameplay, performance tests, and more!

MagzTV’s excellent flight sim and gaming channel is always a great source for gameplay and for information and Magz took some time to break down the P-47 in IL-2: Battle of Bodenplatte to see how it performs and give us some insightful information.

Similar in style, Wolfpack345 gets really in depth on the P-47 looking at the exterior details, the interior details, the different armament options, and some of the flight character too. Oh, and he blows up a train using bombs, rockets, and guns.

Then we have Sheriff’s Sim Shack channel with DerSheriff doing a teamplay multiplayer scenario with the P-47 attacking fighters and getting his first kill in “this thing.” It’s not his normal Bf109 but he certainly handled it fairly well!

Finally, Robin Takolander has a nice playthrough and early test flight of the P-47 as well. It’s just gameplay of a quick mission but if you’re desperate to see the P-47 in action this is pretty good too.

Just a few of the new videos making the rounds since the P-47 came out earlier in the week. No doubt there will be plenty more gameplay showing up soon as more people check it out.

Update: This new video by ilikevideogames is too good not to put in this compilation. Ace in a flight on Knights of the Skies server with a team of P-47s. Outstanding teamplay and lots of fun from the looks of it!

It’s an interesting ride – surprisingly docile at low speed (big old wing, I suppose). The metal skin over winter terrain is just beautiful…

BTW, on the subject of big aircraft Jason announced he has got access to the Tempest at RAF Hendon and is off to take pics.
