Two pieces of news to share today about the forthcoming IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad based “Fortress on the Volga” campaign with the biggest piece of news being that 1CGS has released a new trailer highlighting key moments from the campaign.

If you’re looking to see some gameplay from the new campaign, look no further as this trailer (combined with some of the screenshots released recently) should give you a pretty good sense of what this campaign is going to be like.

The second piece of news that I have to share about this is that the trailer above is actually a collaboration between 1CGS… and myself.

Naturally, I couldn’t say too much about my early look at the campaign but I can say that it was a lot of fun working with 1CGS and especially Alex and Jason on this project. I hope everyone enjoys the trailer and that it gives them a little bit of a taste of what it will be like to fly Fortress on the Volga.

Review still coming

I am still prepared to write a review of the campaign when it arrives. To be fair to everyone reading I think I will include a disclaimer that I did help produce some promotional materials for it so folks aren’t concerned that I’m hiding my (limited) involvement. I do hope to still give my opinion on the new campaign in as evenhanded a way as I know how.
