The videos for the DCS: F-16C are coming fast and furious now with multiple short videos detailing some of the different capabilities of the F-16. The latest focuses on basic navigation functions.

Getting from A to B

For all of the wiz-bang that a 4th gen multi-role fighter like the F-16 offers, there are other more basic functions that are essential to basic operations and navigation is very much a part of that basic functionality.

The latest video from Matt Wagner details how steer point and TACAN navigation works in the F-16. It doesn’t cover adding additional waypoints. I’m sure that will come in a future video along with many more details.

  1. No hint at a 2-seater? I was hoping that there might be more exploration of a collaborative crew aspect, based on the F-14 work.

    1. It’s unclear if or how much of Heatblur’s Jester AI work might show up in other DCS World modules.

At this point no ED statement has suggested that they would do a F-16D or F/A-18D.

    2. It would be interesting though!

I know a lot of fans are hoping for a Tornado two-seater. And there’s of course the F-4 in the future pipeline.
