Baltic Dragon, creator of some extremely well known and well regarded campaigns for DCS World is hard at work creating the Raven One campaign for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet and the DCS: Supercarrier module. The campaign is making good progress as RedKite, a YouTuber who creates a lot of DCS World content, has shown off the fourth mission and provides an in-depth first look at this new campaign. Let’s have a look!

A tense situation in the Gulf

Based on the novel “Raven One,” by author Kevin Miller who is also a 24-year veteran of naval aviation, Raven One for DCS World is being created to provide an exciting but also authentic DCS: F/A-18C experience. Two former Hornet pilots, Jell-o and Sunshine from the Fighter Pilot Podcast (FPP), are also consulting.

In this fourth mission, a tanker is threatened in the gulf by hostile patrol boats and a few other surprises. The situation is tense but it’s also a great show of how a mission can be designed around more than just firing missiles at targets but rather working with a team of operations and observing a complex set of rules of engagement can be just as engrossing.

Raven One is expected out at the end of Q2 which likely means by the end of this month. Stay tuned!

  2. The video looks promising. And I agree with you, that a good mission isn’t necessarily just all about shooting at targets. Instead, just following some more complex RoE in a believable, authentic way can be very rewarding indeed.
