There’s some hype building around the new DCS World map featuring Syria and much of the eastern coast of the Mediterranean and after yesterday’s video some more screenshots have appeared on the DCS forums.

The latest screenshots have been released in the Eagle Dynamics DCS World forum centered around three different airbases (so far). The images are centered around Damascus International Airport, Marge Ruhayil airfield and finally Latakia International Airport and Hmeimim Air Base. The developers are intending to release more screenshots of each of these places.

There’s a few things that stand out here. One, the airbases are very detailed and everything from the objects to the little details around the base seem to have been very well detailed. Eagle Dynamics has talked about Ugra Media using their new map development techniques and technology and clearly it’s paid off.

The other thing is the unique differences of the terrain in each area. Although DCS: Syria is very much set in a more arid part of the world, that doesn’t tell the whole story and it’s an area that has a fair bit of variety and we already see that with the smattering of images above.
