New DCS: AH-64D details, plus more clouds

Eagle Dynamics is talking a lot more about the DCS: AH-64D Apache Longbow that they are building for DCS World. We have new details on the types of equipment that will be coming in early access including various sensors and weapon systems. Also, there’s a tiny tidbit more about the new clouds system and what the plans are for it.

An exact date for a pre-order is not yet available, however, Eagle Dynamics are indicating that they will have it start sometime in the first week of May of this year. Release of the module to early access is still slated for Q3 2021 according to the roadmap released early in the year.

Clouds information

According to Eagle Dynamics, the new clouds will be released alongside several presets with different styles of cloud available to start the feature off. Later, the Mission Editor, will be enhanced with more features and the capability to create our own presets.

The update also officially confirms once again that the new cloud technology is networked. This is going to be important for all DCS players but especially DCS WWII online players where clouds and visibility are essential!

The only downside in Apache finally coming to DCS is that most folks will miss out on what a great experience Black Shark remains…
