It’s here folks! Sturmovikfest 2021 starts today and we have a full slate of events on the schedule for the day. This is what you need to know about and how to get involved with the second annual Sturmovikfest!
Dogfights and formation flights
If you’re in Asia Pacific, you may have already checked out The Unprofessionals server and their setup. They will be having fly-in’s all week!
Meanwhile we have the first of two mass formation events coming up today at 1400 GMT. The second event will be happening next Sunday at 2000 GMT. You can still sign-up at the last minute for today’s event or check out the one next Sunday. We hope to have an especially big crowd for the second one!
The TopDog 2v2 dogfight event will be happening at 1700 GMT. Check out their video to learn about that and visit the sign-up here.
At 1900 GMT, it’s the regularly scheduled Flying Circus Sunday fly-in. These happen every weekend but we’re making a special event of it this weekend as part of Sturmovikfest. There’s the new Nieuport N.28 to check out and lots of great WWI dogfighting action to be had. No sign-up, just login to the Jasta5 Flugpark server.
Finally, at 1900 GMT and at 2300 GMT, we’ll be doing a big community fly-in on the popular Finnish Virtual Pilots – Dynamic War server. They have recently debuted their newest scenario based on the Moscow map and have added new effects such as towering smoke columns near objectives, new capture and control points for tankers, and a semi-dynamic moving frontline that moves during the scenario depending on who has captured what point.
Also look out for the launch of the Project R, Season 2, air racing server by the folks at Red Flight (the team behind Combat Box).
