A lot of news today for DCS World. In addition to the release of the DCS: Mosquito into open beta, there are also a bunch of other updates that have come to the sim. Here’s some highlights
The Channel map
Eagle Dynamics are now ready to declare DCS: The Channel as being feature complete. Additional objects, details, and 15 added points of interest have been added. So too has a winter season and tileset. I’d love for the map to also include autumn and spring but maybe we can still see those at a later date. As it is, having at least two major seasons gives the map some added variety and appeal.
The DCS World Weekend news also mentions that the current 20% discount for early access open beta will expire at the end of this weekend.
Other updates
Other core updates for DCS World include a bunch of new content such as the Chinese H-6J bomber together with some associated long range weapons, the Syrian version of the SA-6 (S-200), the F-16’s flight model has been tuned (with more work expected) and the aircraft has received the new dual target track. There was also a huge list of minor tweaks and fixes to the Mi-24 including a series of updates aimed at your AI observer Petrovich, some significant updates for the F-14 especially when it comes to missiles and missile handling, and so much more.
