DCS Open Beta 2.7.6 out with updates for The Channel, Hind, Viper, more

A lot of news today for DCS World. In addition to the release of the DCS: Mosquito into open beta, there are also a bunch of other updates that have come to the sim. Here’s some highlights

The Channel map

Eagle Dynamics are now ready to declare DCS: The Channel as being feature complete. Additional objects, details, and 15 added points of interest have been added. So too has a winter season and tileset. I’d love for the map to also include autumn and spring but maybe we can still see those at a later date. As it is, having at least two major seasons gives the map some added variety and appeal.

The DCS World Weekend news also mentions that the current 20% discount for early access open beta will expire at the end of this weekend.

Other updates

Other core updates for DCS World include a bunch of new content such as the Chinese H-6J bomber together with some associated long range weapons, the Syrian version of the SA-6 (S-200), the F-16’s flight model has been tuned (with more work expected) and the aircraft has received the new dual target track. There was also a huge list of minor tweaks and fixes to the Mi-24 including a series of updates aimed at your AI observer Petrovich, some significant updates for the F-14 especially when it comes to missiles and missile handling, and so much more.

The full list can be read here.

Also a newsworthy change worth noting:

Any .lua changes now trigger integrity checking on Multiplayer which means you can no longer do the following in MP:
    – modify chaff/flare programs permanently (Or use DICE to do the same).
-export MFDs for Helios and other purposes.
    – Use Viacomm (might need additional fact check on this, seems to affect some and not others).

That list id not exhaustive and the situation is very much not ideal. Worth reporting here for the state of the game.

Thanks for the details there. I see there’s quite a long thread on r/hoggit about it now as well. I haven’t interacted with those features so I wasn’t sure how they impacted things.

      Thanks for the information!

Campaign missions now have replay and skip options in the main menu. That’s a massive improvement. Now we just need checkpoints in missions!

The F-14 TIDS update is really appreciated. Not having to wait to see alt or range information, but having both displayed is a huge improvement. I fly PVE as a RIO quite a bit, and I always thought it was weird that I had to wait for the info I needed to cycle on the TIDS.
