The last flyable aircraft release for IL-2 Battle of Normandy is coming soon and the folks at 1CGS have a new developer diary update that gives us our best look yet at this interesting German warbird. We also hear a little bit more about what’s going on with the rest of the project. Let’s have a look!
Me410 preview
For those waiting on the Me410 to release, the wait has been long but it is nearly over as this aircraft is nearing release. That’s what you can infer from the latest developer diary as we get our best look yet at the 410.
A new video has been released showing off the aircraft and plenty of details about it too. Jason Williams, the Executive Producer for the series, wrote in the diary that this is the most detailed recreation of a Me410 in a sim. I have no doubt based on what I just watched.
Have a look!
What else is coming?
We’re close to the end of a couple of projects for the IL-2 series. The Me410 is the last flyable airplane but of course the biggest piece of the puzzle is the map. That’s what I always think ties the whole product together. The word is that work continues and that it is the most complex map that the team has ever made. Here’s what Jason had to say:
We continue to finish the Normandy map, which is the most complex map we have ever made, and work continues on our other Collector Planes and Tanks as planned. We hope to have more images to show you soon on those. The FC2 map continues to be worked on as well.
Jason Williams
Flying Circus Vol 2 fans will of course be happy to know that work is still moving forward with the map for that release. And of course the various Collector Planes and Tanks that are currently in development too ranging from the Sopwith Snipe to the C-47 to the StuG III.
Read about all of it on the latest dev diary.
