DCS Kiowa Warrior instructional series

It’s been a very long time since anything substantial has come from DCS World third party developer Polychop. Now, we have a new instructional series that has appeared on YouTube that sounds like it will give us some training on the helicopter before it releases.

Remember the Kiowa?

It’s been slightly over a year since I last reported on Polychop and their DCS: Kiowa Warrior helicopter project. The developer was quite active through 2020 with the helicopter looking like a promising addition to a growing collection of rotorcraft and then they abruptly stopped their updates except for an update last year.

They haven’t been completely silent as their Discord community remains active with occasional posts from the developers.

Now we have something new to see with this module. Posted Barundus’ YouTube channel, a former Kiowa pilot and instructor with 5300 flight hours, the new video gives us a look at the static model of the Kiowa in DCS and we learn a bit about the pilot gear of the helicopter. Future videos are expected so stay tuned for more.

I remember the Kiowa and I’m looking forward to its release. After that, I hope the devs are also going to improve the FM of the Gazelle.

KW could very well be my favorite helo as long as it’s on-par with DCS standards.

And other than the long delay, all signs are that Kiowa Warrior IS going to be on par.

I think this video a good sign that we’re finally getting “close”…

Very much looking forward to seeing what they’ve been able to accomplish 🙂
