JustFlight announce Avro Vulcan for MSFS

Here’s a cool one! The Avro Vulcan has been announced as the Just Flight development team’s next project for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It, together with several other project releases that they are working on right now, is in development with their art team producing some impressive visuals. Let’s have a look!

The Vulcan

There’s something fascinating about the Avro Vulcan. Designed by the same design team that brought the war-time Avro Lancaster to life, the Vulcan came just a few years later looking nothing like its predecessor and establishing its own iconic shape and reputation. At airshows it wowed audiences with its distinctive howl and it even had a famous operational sortie during the Falkland War. It’s certainly an interesting airplane!

Just Flight have just announced the project via a tweet on their Twitter account.

The project involves an extensive upgrade of the Vulcan that they have produced for other simulators with the project planning to bring the Avro Vulcan B Mk. 2, K.2 and MRR variants to life. As you can see from some of the screenshots, the visuals are already quite well advanced and looking great in MSFS.

According to their update, they’ve just begun the lengthy testing process using just a basic flight model and primary aircraft systems. It sounds like a long road is ahead of them still but its obviously advanced well enough to make it appear in this first developer update. Surely more updates will be on the way!

Meanwhile, the Fokker F28, RJ Professional and PA-38 Tomahawk are all head of the Vulcan in the development pipeline. Look for some of those sooner than later!

If they could stick that in DCS I know a few guys on the forums who would completely lose their composure. 🙂

  2. I dont tend to fly military aircraft in my civil sims but in MSFS I would possibly make an exception for this beast. I know it released on other platforms but having the world wide scenery makes for a completely different experience.
JF’s addons are top notch too imo
