We’ve got a new dev blog from the folks at 1CGS and while it will not satisfy the longstanding desire to know what’s coming next, we do have a brand new scripted campaign from Black Six which is always a good thing in my experience.

Sky Nomads for the Yak-7B pilot

Covering a month of battles from May 6 to June 5, 1943, this new Scripted Campaign by Black Six puts you in with 43rd IAP of 278th IAD and their collection of Yak fighters. You will be assigned to the Yak-7B specifically so that makes this campaign easily accessible to anyone who owns IL-2 Battle of Kuban. The campaign is 15 missions long and they estimate that it will take, on average, about 8 hours to complete.

The dev diary goes into considerable depth on the battle time frame as well as the movements of the 278th IAD with numerous jumps from one airbase to another as the battle line shifted. That should keep the campaign quite dynamic.

BlackSix has honed the art of fun, accessible, and sometimes epic missions with his past efforts so I’m pretty excited about Sky Nomads and what it will offer.

Here are some of the screenshots released today.

    8 minutes to complete?

I don’t normally judge campaigns by their length, but 8 minutes seems a bit short.
