We’re just weeks away from FSExpo 2023 and Stormbirds will be providing coverage of the digital/remote portion of the show once again this year. With 70+ developers and some high profile companies within the simulation space planning to show off their current products as well as reveal new ones, there will be lots to look forward to. Here’s some of what you can expect!
Expo time is nearly here
First, let’s talk about the expo itself. Taking place between June 23 and 25 in Houston Texas, FSExpo is one of world’s largest dedicated flight simulation conference and tradeshow. This year’s venue at the Doubletree Houston Airport and at the Lone Star Flight Museum promises to be extra special.
Tickets for the in person event are rapidly running out (I’ve heard there are less than 200 now) but digital passes for the remote version of the expo remain unlimited.
Big name developers are planned to be at the expo including Microsoft Flight Simulator and Asobo, iniBuilds, Orbx, Navigraph, PMDG, SimFab and members of the X-Plane team. Slightly smaller but still noteworthy groups such as Parallel42, MK-STUDIOS, and RealSimGear are all going to be there too. There are now 70+ developers confirmed!
There are plenty of events coming up in relation to the expo and we’re expecting several known and currently unannounced reveals during the expo.
Thrustmaster afterparty
Flight Sim Youtuber Chewwy94 will be hosting a FSExpo afterparty with the Thrustmaster team onboard a Boeing 747 at the NASA Johnson Space Center where it’s expected that Thrustmaster will be talking about a new product or new product line.
Something ‘big’ for iniBuilds
Custom liveries, an announcement trailer and the tease of something “big” are coming to us from iniBuilds who are one of the diamond level sponsors of FSExpo and appear to be planning to reveal something at the expo.
Houston airport scenery
FSimStudios and Texan Simulations has released a new scenery package for Microsoft Flight Simulator and this one is featuring the Houston William P. Hobby Airport. The scenery package includes a highly detailed airport terminal, Southwest facilities, and the Houston Airport Doubletree where day 1 of the expo will be held.

There’s more…
There are plenty of other comments floating around out there that FSExpo will be home to several surprise announcements. Expect full remote coverage of the expo throughout the weekend here on Stormbirds with breaking news and recaps of some of the key announcements.
And of course I’m proud to maintain my ongoing media partner relationship with FSExpo and the Flight Simulation Association. Check out all of the partners here!
