Not everyone who loves flight sims is a real world pilot but many of you do take the passion for flight from virtual to the real world or turn to the virtual world to supplement your real world flying. The Flight Simulation Association wants to survey you if you are a real pilot. Here’s the details.

Survey

Real world pilot? Flight Simulation Association wants to hear from you about how your virtual flying affects your real world flying.

Flight Simulation Association (FSA), organizers of the annual FlightSimExpo conference and tradeshow, is conducting a study to quantify the impact home flight simulation platforms like Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Infinite Flight, can have on real-world flight training.

The message continues with a request to fill out a brief survey.

To support this effort, we’re asking certificated pilots to complete the brief survey below so we can learn more about the impacts home flight simulation may have. Even if home flight simulation was not a factor in your pilot training, if you hold a pilot certificate, we would appreciate your input. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

Interested in filling out the survey? Read more about it and fill out the survey here.

  1. Not sure if the title should be “FSA wants” – ignore this if in error.

I blame auto-correct and airport WiFi for this mistake but its probably jet-lag and me not checking closely enough.
