Keen to make their Pilatus PC-12 simulation a top notch GA experience, Sim Works Studios has updated us on the latest with their project showing off some key features and talking about what will be bundled into version 1.0.

Four blade and five blade

Following up from last week’s update, SWS have a new update with even more details about their upcoming PC-12 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The good news is that both four and five blade versions, with performance differences between them, will be available at launch with version 1.0. This was not always part of the plan and SWS at one point anticipated a later launch for the five blade version. No longer!

They’ve also been working hard on details such as the inflating deicing boots, the cargo versions empty cargo zone (cargo will be added in the coming weeks), and on the flight model which they provided an interesting update for.

Additionally, we have further refined the flight model and particularly the flap behavior. You can now fly into the airport in a steep nose-down approach attitude that is very close to the real one. Unfortunately, we can’t match the plane’s pitch behavior during deployment of the flaps due to the flight model lacking sufficient control, but we have the approach right which is utilitarian.

The SWS PC-12 is very high on my list for next aircraft module in Microsoft Flight Simulator and so I’m looking forward to experiencing it soon.

  1. Thanks for the update. It’s really cool to be getting a highly detailed PC12! I can hardly wait! It’s so exciting! Almost as exciting as Bluebird’s 757
