IndiaFoxtEcho and Heatblur surprised everyone last year when they announced a joint venture to bring the DCS: F-14 Tomcat to Microsoft Flight Simulator. A recently released video shows off the aircraft flying in the world of MSFS with some soothing vibes. I’m a fan! Let’s have a look!

Progress underway

Aimed at bringing the deepest simulation of an F-14 that I’ve ever seen in a consumer flight simulation to the biggest simulator series around, IndiaFoxtEcho and Heatblur have a very interesting project here aimed at making the DCS World’s F-14 flyable in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Although the update is scant on any details, the video definitely shows that the project is going relatively well with the F-14 flying around various MSFS scenery. Here’s what IndiaFoxtEcho wrote on their Facebook page.

With our partners at Heatblur Simulations, we keep pushing closer to an initial release of the F-14. With the announcement of Flight Simulator 2024, we see the F-14 for MSFS as a long term project with several exciting surprises in store and we can’t wait to put it in your hands.

This should be great if it has CFD!

I think in terms of complexity/fidelity, the old Aerosoft F-14 for FSX had a LOT going for it, esp given the time frame.
