There’s a new developer blog out from 1C Game Studios and this one features the upcoming Lisunov Li-2 transport aircraft. It’s a familiar type with what may be an unfamiliar name to some so let’s have a look at the latest work.
Progress towards release
According to the latest developer blog, the Lisunov Li-2 Collector Plane is making good progress and its nearing release. The Li-2 was a license build version of the DC-3 and was converted to military use much in the same way that the C-47 was turned into a wartime transport and paratrooper aircraft.
The Li-2 does have some unique features compared to the C-47 that we already have. Shvetsov M-62 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engines, UTK-1 turret with UBT 12.7 mm machine gun, bomb carrying capacity, and Russian instrumentation. It can even carry a forward firing gun.
1CGS are planning to release the Collector Plane late this month or early in August.
