Internal testing is underway by the Aerosoft team on their A330 project for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The latest developer update gives us some additional insights into what they are working on and what the current issues are… by the numbers. Let’s have a look.

Testing, issues, and the numbers

The thematic base of this update is numbers. We have numbers on issues and bugs, what the team is focused on, and even a breakdown by category in this latest developer update.

According to the update, 20 internal testers are putting the aircraft through its paces and the aircraft currently has 285 reported bugs and improvement requests on their tracker. They list 30 of those as low priority with 90 having been evaluated and assigned to the team to solve. The rest, the majority of them, are in the process of assessment.

A chart gives us a good indication of what they are currently dealing with listing system visualization (at 39% ), system logic (at 31%), animation (at 13%), 3D (at 5%) and other (at 12%).

The report ends on a hopeful note that once the numbers are lower that the team can then begin to estimate a potential release date for the project.

Community guesses have, of course, varied wildly with many hoping for an imminent release while this developer update suggests to me that this project is still likely months away.
