Good news for airliner fans as iniBuilds has released their second development update on their upcoming A300 series for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The good news is that the airliner is intended to release before the end of the year and that’s not all because variants and engine information sounds promising too. Let’s have a look!

Details all around

The latest update from iniBuilds on their A300 project have revealed quite a few details about the product. We’re taken on a bit of a walkaround tour with the the update showing off the detail work that the model has in all areas including all access doors big and small. There’s plenty of details on the landing gear and on the cargo hatches on the cargo variant (more on that in a moment). They also show off a couple of available liveries including a UPS and Air Hongkong.

The details go beyond the visual with this update confirming that iniBuilds are using the CFD technology within MSFS to help fine tune their flight model and that accurate drag and engine thrust is simulated throughout the flight envelope. They’ve also programmed new flight directors, new autoland systems, new autopilot handling, new LNAV system to handle more complex SIDS and STARS and improved core system logic.

Surprisingly to me, iniBuilds are saying that this will be the last big development update from them as the product is already going into final testing and release preparation.

Release schedule and content

Like a lot of airliner projects these days, there are a couple of stages involved with the release of the A300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Stage 1 will see the GE powered A300 in both freighter and passenger configurations release before the end of 2023. They also expect to provide a “hotfix” before the end of the year too.

A free update in early 2024 will bring in the Pratt & Whitney engines in both freighter and passenger variations. There will also be an IDC panel update with a modern radio panel and simulation of CPDLC & ACARS.

Then, sometime later in 2024 iniBuilds intends to offer a paid expansion to the project with the EPIC mod for both engine variants of the freighter variant. The EPIC modification adds full colour LCD panels in place of the more traditional avionics.

Stay tuned as iniBuilds work towards a release of this airliner before the end of this year! Read the full update right here.

  1. Couldn’t care less tbh. Their other Airbus that we got for free is a performance hog for no reason. It’s not the most detailed or the best looking airliner but it brings my fps down to a slideshow almost. And the rudder feels so sensitive and light it’s like I’m in a little paper plane, not a huge widebody airliner.

One of the airliners I haven’t yet spent much time with is the A310. It’s on my todo list! I’ll have to see if my experience matches your experience.

Which airliner is your go to?

Hi Kurt. Which bugs are you referring to? IniBuilds have not yet released this product.
