We must be getting closer to the launch of Just Flight’s Cold War-era Vulcan bomber because they are now showing off some of the details and accessories that the Vulcan can be equipped with including bombs, fuel tanks, hose and drogue systems and more. Let’s have a look!

Vulcan loaded up and kitted out

Although weapons aren’t really a thing in Microsoft Flight Simulator, non-Marketplace aircraft can still be configured to carry (and sometimes even drop) a variety of weapons and Just Flight, in their latest update, are showing off that capability for the upcoming Vulcan.

AGM-45 Shrike anti-radiation missiles, Blue Steel nuclear stand-off missile, Mk13 unguided bombs, and WE-117 nuclear bombs round out the type’s Cold War-era armament selection. Non-weapon loadouts can also be configured with cylinder tanks, MRR-pods (for maritime reconnaissance) and and Saddle tanks.

All of this will be configured via a hideable EFB tablet interface which will let you plugin whichever armament or accessory you want to put on your Vulcan flight.

Livery specific equipment will also be in the mix with K2 tanker liveries also coming with the hose and drogue system that the Vulcan tankers used.

Read the full update from Just Flight for the rest. Stay tuned for more info!

  1. That looks cool.

I’m pretty much past spending money on MSFS, especially with the new MSFS on the horizon. All my sim dollars are DCS dollars. Except… mayyyybe the Iris PC-21 looks like it could be a lot of fun to fly and has all the ingredients I like.

  3. I wonder what that big flat plate under the right engine nacelles is for…?

In any case, this will be a Must Buy for me. JF do an extremely good job on modeling and most systems, and with their newest Vulcan, appear to have gone to great lengths to capture the iconic Vulcan Howl and other sounds.

Hopefully, they have put as much effort into the flight model, too 🙂
