Sim Works Studios PC-12 is among my most anticipated aircraft coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator and while I’m excited for it to arrive, I’m also following closely as SWS provides us updates on the aircraft’s finishing steps. Its a bit delayed from what they planned but the aircraft continues to come together and the latest update looks good. Here’s what we know!

Of flaps and passengers

Sim Works Studios reports that, due to health reasons, they haven’t been able to finish the last pieces of the project just yet. But they aren’t sitting around waiting because other elements of the team continue to put the finishing touches in.

One of the things that SWS has tried to do with the PC-12 is make it fly like the real thing. Particularly with regards to its landing character where the real world version pitches down anywhere from 3-8 degrees when deploying the flaps at 30 and 40 degrees. Unfortunately they haven’t been able to do that but they still have managed to make it nose down anywhere between 1 and 4 degrees.

Meanwhile they are also doing some work on the passenger compartment with some finishing touches. Different and unique interiors will be matched to liveries. They are also working on the passengers themselves with animations. They are also prototyping passenger expressions and body language to match the quality of the flight – stall the airplane or do something crazy and they should look more nervous. Sounds fun!

  1. Just coming off a family bout with “the bug” myself. I wish the team a speedy & full recovery from whatever ails them 🙂

So glad to see this nearing the finish line – I’m sure it will be another Hi Fi, very popular add-on.
