Looking for a lesser known floatplane with some interesting looks and some performance credentials? Check out the FN.333 Riviera released by iniBuilds and created by developer Mario Noriega Designs.

Explore the skies and the waterways

Retractable wing floats, functioning anchor system, a reversible pusher propeller, GNS430 GPS, and a 260 horsepower IO-470-P engine combine together in a very interesting amphibious aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The aircraft, created by Mario Noriega Designs, follows an earlier release featuring the Caproni-Vizzola C-22J Ventura, and looks to be setting a trend for doing some interesting but lesser known Italian aircraft.

Publisher iniBuilds are offering up the FN.333 Riviera exclusively on their store for the first two weeks. It’s expected that the aircraft will appear on other storefronts after that exclusivity period passes. The FN.333 Riviera is available for £9.99 GBP, €11.55 EUR or $12.21 USD.

Check out the promo trailer to see more of this airplane.

  1. To paraphrase a well known rotary wing flight sim personality, “Does it have CFD…?”

It’s not mentioned in the marketing materials. Those aircraft that have been tuned with the CFD system do seem to end up better but we have seen some great examples without the system as well. No idea where this will fit in.

      1. Indeed. Since iB seem to have been leading the charge on CFD, I’m hoping that bled over into this sub-dev project 🙂
Would make it a Must Buy for me (I love funky flying boats)

      2. I got this reply from the dev:
“CFD refused to work, with the horizontal tail so close to the propeller. NPS, as New Propeller Simulation? Yes, complete with a reverse mechanism. Not sure what SBS is … please expand!”

The good news is that he tried! 🙂

I’ll keep it on The List as it’s a cool aircraft and his previous work has received good reviews.

The bad news is that non-traditional aircraft planforms like the 333 still aren’t (properly) supported by MSFS’ base flight model. This was first brought to light when IFT released their Long-EZ and noted that canards are problematic in MSFS.
I.e., as in X-Plane and other sims, the visual model we see has nothing to do with how the add-on flies.

Asobo has stated that limitation will finally be fixed in MSFS v2024.

  2. Looks like a fun one, added to to-try list.

    Thank you!
