We’ve got another update coming in from PMDG’s Robert S. Randazzo with news on what PMDG is up to and an indication that we’ll be seeing a lot more around the Boeing 777 that the company is busy bringing to Microsoft Flight Simulator. There’s also some indication that some other products are about to enter testing as the same time. Should be interesting so let’s have a look!
An interesting year ahead
With just a couple of weeks left in 2023, it seems likely that PMDG will have some new products out in the new year. Their beta testing periods have been short on the DC-6 and 737, relative to some other development groups, and so news that the 777 has entered testing is going to certainly be welcome to long haul airliner flyers.
Of the lengthy update, this segment perhaps contained the nuggets of information that many will be interested to know.
We have multiple products going into beta testing in rapid succession now, which means we have a very busy testing season ahead for both the 737 fleets and the 777. 747 development work is spooling up rapidly. It is a great time to be a PMDG customer, as we have a TON of stuff pending for you. (Well- actually- many many tons!)
The 777 entering testing while the 747 ramps up will surely be welcome to those looking for high fidelity long haul airliners. Going by the rest of the update, PMDG have learned a lot about MSFS and are sounding more confident about their future product pipeline than we’ve heard in the past.
Though Robert doesn’t lay it out in this update, an interview conducted quite some time back indicated 737 MAX was likely to come not too far behind the 777 project and it sounds like this talk about 737 products entering into beta testing may be that.
So it sounds like 2024 will be good for MSFS, PMDG and Boeing airliner fans.
We’re left with one cabin screenshot from the 777 as a teaser for what is coming next. Read the full update here.
