I can hardly believe it but here we are at December 25th, 2023 and another year almost past. I want to wish everyone a merry Christmas to those celebrating and a happy holidays and well wishes to everyone.
It’s been a busy year but I am taking a couple of days to kick back, relax, and enjoy the festive time with friends and family. New articles will start up in a couple of days. I’ve got some end of year pieces nearly ready to go so look for those as we close out 2023.

Think 2024 is a year of definitely knowing more about 1C next step, first real impression on Jasons project, release of FS2024 and maybe for DSC finally leaving the ancient DirectX11 for something better. 🙂
But anyway thanks for all the news, as I’m after 25y not anymore into combat fly sims and with this website still being informed. Who knows when something real revolutionary is going to happen, I will read this here and I will be back.

As the world burns, I’m enjoying my time in the virtual flight area more and more. Hopefully next year the burning will stop, at least for a bit, and we can think about what we might lose if we don’t wake up to the dangers. Anyway, not exactly a fun Christmas and New Year’s message, but in my over half a century on the planet, including some of the hottest times of the Cold War, I’ve not felt things to be as chaotic and precarious. But we don’t have to let it repeat 1938-39, we ARE smarter than that, and most people in the community here seem to be the sort of people who we will need to get us through.

Though I’m more a modern history person myself, I’m surrounded by classicists who like to remind me that these things tend to have an ebb and flow and things have always been a bit chaotic. Still, I hope for quieter days ahead reserved for the fun of simulated aviation.
