The complex airliner and freighter selection for Microsoft Flight Simulator grows by one with the release of TFDi’s MD-11. The aircraft released yesterday and is now available for purchase.

MD-11 details

The iconic MD-11 tri-jet is, in freighter form, the last of the popular tri-jets in service and the last of the McDonnell Douglas designs flying. TFDi have simulated this aircraft with detailed exterior and interior cockpit and cabin, 4K textures, custom animations, a custom FMS and AFS as well as detailed simulation of various onboard systems. An EFB is also available for various options and the ability to import SimBrief flight plans.

The aircraft is releasing with the GE engine option by a P&W engine option is anticipated later. An add-on package, called the Extended Simulation Package, will be an additional charge later on and will bring a detailed failures system.

The available packages for the MD-11 is done a-la-carte. You choose if you want the passenger, cargo or both. The first purchase is $69.99 USD and then the expansion (either passenger or cargo) will cost an additional $9.99. The extended simulation package, coming late in 2024, will be $4.99 USD.

  1. The TFDI MD-11 looks very realistic. Is it just me or does the PMDG 777 not look as realistic as the MD-11? I’m not criticising PMDG, I believe that they do a great job with what they do, I’m just wondering is it just me seeing this?
