Kelly Johnson and the Lockheed Skunk Works classic P-80/F-80/T-33 series is having a good week this week (for flight simming) with iniBuilds T-33 announcement earlier in the week and now 1CGS is talking about the aircraft series with their latest developer blog. This one is aircraft focused on the F-80C Shooting Star with this Korean war veteran combat aircraft seeing quite a bit of combat. Let’s have a look!

A new developer diary is focused on the F-80C Shooting Star. This USAF aircraft used during the Korean War was an updated version of the P-80 that first flew in 1944 and was even rushed overseas to Italy for a brief combat tour (though it saw no combat in WWII).
The blog talks a little about the capabilities of the aircraft. 4,000 lbs of external ordinance on four hardpoints including bombs and HVAR rockets. Both the jettisonable 165 galon tanks as well as the 265-gallon Misawa fuel tanks are mentioned. Six .50cal machine guns are standard armament although on this version they have been upgraded to the M3 which fires at 1,200 rpm instead of the 750–850 rpm you may be used to from WWII aircraft. They also mention that the C variant had 15% more power thanks to a revised engine.
