Flying on some of DCS World’s servers like the Hoggit: Georgia at War Server and my occasional forays on Enigma’s (now Heatblur) Cold War server has made me a big believer in the benefits and immersion that having a human GCI can offer to a scenario. Enigma has just done a video interviewing the creator of a new freeware ATC/GCI tool that will eventually be available for all DCS pilots and that can only mean great things. Let’s have a look!

Introducing Standalone Radar Control

Enigma has just interviewed Wizard, the developer of Standalone Radar Control (SRC), to learn about this new ATC/GCI utility. This freeware software intends to offer a ATC and GCI tool with the ability to toggle the display of friendly and enemy aircraft, threats, and display airbases with runway and taxiway visibility.

The project has been in development for about 5-months now and future features are planned including the potential for SRS integration. It all sounds really cool and I wanted to give a boost to a project like this that has the potential to offer a good boost to multiplayer teamwork and immersion.

One response to “Enigma video highlights new free ATC/GCI tool”

  1. Yes saw it on the Engima’s discord channel and looks pretty good – I’m always thankful for those that like to be a GCI operator, does make a difference on the server.

Seeing this and other developments like DCS Web Editor, Olympus and Briefing Room goes a long way to plug some of the gaps that exist in DCS. I’m always amazed by peoples enthusiasm for developing apps like these
