Combine a highly anticipated airliner launch for Microsoft Flight Simulator, a fun trailer, and a developer that has established a reputation for generating one of the simulators best airliners in the business and you have today’s launch of the Fenix Simulations A319/A321 expansion. Let’s have a look!

Short plane, loong looong plaaaane

Fenix Simulations A319/A321 add-on package, released today, adds the longer and short variants of the A320ceo family of aircraft. Fenix is well known for their high quality A320ceo release and it is indeed one of the most impressive airliner products I’ve had the opportunity to review. The A319 and A321 aren’t just the same airplane with slightly shorter or longer fuselages but there are quite a few details baked into each of them with subtly different systems, panels, and even different fuel systems in the one case. Going by recent developer blogs, Fenix Simulations have meticulously brought those differences to the forefront.

The marketing team have done a great job with this release too thanks to this absolutely hilarious trailer that had me laughing at an airliner product trailer in a way that I had not expected. I also appreciate the subtle humour too with the G-FBIG on the A3210 house livery and G-SMOL on the A319.

More seriously, a dev blog from just a couple of days ago included the release of a short video comparing the sound differences between the A319 and A321 with the longer fuselage having a distinctly different engine sound difference when compared between models. The kind of depth and detail you expect from Fenix.
