Up until now, VIRPIL’s hardware has been focused quite a bit on the military and helicopter side of flight simulation peripherals. Their WarBRD, MongoosT-50, new Cadet series, helicopter collective, and their recently shown off FLNKR grip have been multi-purpose in use but not aimed directly at the civilian flight simulator side of the market. New teases, however, seem to be pointing at a yoke system that would be very much at home with airliner and GA flyers. Let’s have a look what’s been revealed so far!

New yoke system on the way?

Nothing has been formally announced but VIRPIL has been teasing their new product all week now on social media. Images have progressively revealed more of the hardware that gives us a pretty clear picture on what they are about to fully reveal.

On the right side it looks like we have a control dial that could be used for multiple purposes including as a magneto selector/start control on a GA airplane or as a mode selector for an airliner. An ignition left and right control above it also can be used in multiple different ways.

On the left side we can see a bank of light control systems including landing lights, runway turn out lights, and nav lights. Very airliner focused on that side for sure. In the same image, we can see a landing gear handle which appears to be sitting on its own maybe as a separate yet related peripheral. Interesting!

The last image shows that there are multiple styles of yoke available with one that is clearly Boeing inspired and another that is clearly Embraer inspired.

VIRPIL says that a full reveal is coming today so we’ll see what they’ve got to announce later on!
